Our Top Tips for Healthy Little Smiles
- Eat and drink smart – Limit sugary snacks and drinks. Encourage fruit, vegetables, and tooth-friendly foods.
- Drink tap water – Fluoride in tap water helps protect teeth against decay.
- Brush twice daily – Children should brush for two minutes morning and night. Under 8s may need help with technique.
- Floss once a day – Start flossing once any two teeth touch. Young children often need help at first.
- Visit the dentist regularly – We recommend check-ups every six months from age three, or earlier if needed.
- Wear a mouthguard for sport – A custom-made mouthguard protects teeth during both training and games.
